Weekly Update ~ June 15, 2015

Wow! What a roller coaster ride last week was! I was never sure if we were up or down. For those of you who haven’t already heard, our bill was passed and signed by Governor Dayton on Saturday afternoon. This is the link to one of the news articles: “Dayton Signs Bills, Government Shutdown Avoided“. Now I have to keep reminding myself that it’s actually happened and I can’t stop smiling. I really hope you are all as excited as I am!

Of course there will be a lot of work ahead to get all the details ironed out. A lot of research and questions to be asked and answered. I know you all have so many questions, so do we! Together I have confidence that we will get there. It will just take patience on everyone’s part.

First and foremost we ALL want to give a HUGE thank you to Senator Dibble and Representative Newberger. We could not have done this without these two gentlemen working together for the good of the people of Minnesota. They spent many hours meeting with all of the folks that had to agree on this, working out solutions, and making this work for everyone. If you’d like to send them a thank you note, you can click on their name for a direct mail link.

Today’s update is being written a little later than usual because I was trying to find out some answers to questions that I know are uppermost in our minds. The first one being, when does this law actually take effect? Well, I still am not entirely sure. I have been told September, August, and 60 days. I can not find a verification for any of these answers. Yet. Just give me some time. I do know for sure that it is being worked on and will continue to update you as we go.

The Facebook page now has 1092 likes. We still have folks signing the petition which is at 2346. We will be declaring victory and closing it down soon. Many thanks to everyone who made sure to get it signed.

Have an awesome week!
