Fruitcake today is made with chopped candied fruit, nuts and spices. Then it’s soaked in some kind of liquor. You can leave them plain or frost them.
Some countries eat fruitcake all year round, but in a few countries like Germany, Canada and America, it is eaten mainly on Christmas. A lot of Fruitcakes are given as gifts for the Holidays.
