Throwback Thurday ~ The 80’s
If it was fun to be a kid in the 70’s, living the 80’s had to be the best time to just be! Everything seemed to be progressing and changing so quickly. Things were being invented and introduced into households that we had never imagined. Families had their own personal computers and ordinary people walked around with mobile phones. Every time I finally had one computer program figured out, it was upgraded to the next. Record albums had been replaced by the 8 track tape, and now the cassette was taking over that.
The music of the 80’s was unbeatable. Everyone still watches reruns of the TV show’s and movies of the 80’s. They just don’t make them like that any more. ET the Extra Terrestrial little alien became popular, making people aware of Reece’s Pieces candy, after having been on the market for 4 years. Apparently this caused peanut butter flavored desserts to be the food trend of that decade. One of the 1980’s Pillsbury Cook Off winners created a Peanut Butter Banana Cake. In 1987 the red M&M was reintroduced to us for the first time since 1976.
The 80’s consisted of a lot of good things, but I for one am really glad that the big hair and shoulder pads are a thing of the past! 🙂
